This is a good day for “Smiling Like the Sun,” one of the oldie/goodies from Help Wanted days, about 10 years ago. This is the studio version but we used to have a lot of fun doing this live as well. When we were recording I messed up a line, and I was so embarrassed. So Lee, 10 years too late: I’m sorry I messed up your lyric. Your writing rocks. I love this song.

We reunited at the Del Ray Annual Block Party in 2010, and I sang it correctly that time — I think. When I asked Lee, he was like, “it doesn’t matter!” =)
